Hi , Wayne , I came to the R.D. in June last year
to persue a master's degree in Arquitectura Tropical Caribeña a la
Universidad Nacional Pedro Henriquez Ureña . Your site is very useful ,
since it not only gives recaps and valuable general info concerning Guyana
but lists other sources , and moreso since Guyana is so little-known here
; I know of only about 10 guyanese in this country . I have referenced
your site often , researching particular matters . Miscellaneous matters
are also interesting and useful . For instance , a professor in
linguistics at UNPHU had invited myself and the only other Guyanese
enrolled there to share an interview discussing what she referres to as
"the style of creolese common to Guyana" and I thought of copying your
list of proverbs to use as examples in the discussion , since absolutely
no material of this type is available here . I don't think I saw "BIRD IN
HAN WORT TWO IN BUSH" in the said list . Will be in touch .

Great site keep up the good works we need to bombard
cyberspace with all of the good thing that guyana has to offer. I am tired of
the false persona that Jim Jones has ascribed to my country. When ever I say to
some one that I am from Guyana I am always asked. "Is that the place wher Jim
Jone killed all of those people?" or "Where in Africa is that?" So I
congratulate you and all like you. May G D continue to inspire
you.
