CONSIGNMENT BOOK / MUSIC CD / DVD SALES ON GUYANA OUTPOST
AGREEMENT
This Agreement defines the relationship between the seller/author/musician and Gondola Webworks, through its affiliate website Guyana Outpost. Both signatories to this Agreement must have a copy of said Agreement, signed and dated by said signatories.
This service is only for authors/musicians and for new books or music CDs or DVDs. It is not for used or second-hand books or music CDs or DVDs.
Please print out this Agreement, fill in the appropriate sections, sign and return it to Gondola Webworks.
I. HOW IT WORKS

1) The author would send an initial 5 books or music CDs or DVDs to Guyana Outpost to be used as stock.
2) Guyana Outpost would list the book, CD or DVD on the website and display a price, including shipping and handling for online visitors to buy using their credit card or other means of online payment.
3) When the payment is received in Guyana Outpost/Gondola Webworks' account, the book, CD or DVD would then be promptly shipped to the purchaser by Guyana Outpost/Gondola Webworks.
4) The author would also receive an electronic remittance (through PayPal or similar) or a remittance cheque according to the formula defined below.
5) When the payment is received by the author/musician, the author/musician sends more books, music CDs or DVDs to replenish the stock, or increase the stock based on how well the item is selling. These details would be established on a case-by-case basis.
II. DETAILS

II.1) Deposits and Receipting
------------------------------------------------------
This relationship can be terminated by either party at any time, via email notification. Should that event occur, all stock books, CDs or DVDs will be shipped back to the author at the cost of the party initiating the termination.
For this reason, all stock books, CDs or DVDs sent to Guyana Outpost should be accompanied by a stock return shipping and handling deposit. This deposit would be held in trust by Guyana Outpost.
Should the author initiate termination of the relationship, Guyana Outpost would use the deposit to ship the books, CDs or DVDs back to the author.
Should Guyana Outpost initiate termination, then the deposit would be returned to the author as well as the books, CDs or DVDs, at Guyana Outpost's cost.
As the books, CDs or DVDs are sold, their stock return deposits will continue to be held to cover the stock replacement books, CDs or DVDs, for which no additional deposit will be required. However, if the level of stock is to be increased, then an additional stock return deposit will be withheld by Guyana Outpost.
By mutual consent, the market value of a book, CD or DVD (or books, CDs or DVDs) can be used in lieu of the initial deposit on the stock books. That means that an author can ship 5 items to Guyana Outpost with no deposit, and should the author wish to subsequently withdraw from the agreement, Guyana Outpost would ship stock items back to the author keeping one book, CD or DVD as payment for shipping and handling.
Alternatively, the stock return shipping and handling deposit can be deducted from the first remittance payment to the author or musician.
With either of the latter two approaches, authors or musicians need not send any initial deposits to Guyana Outpost -- just the books, CDs or DVDs.
Guyana Outpost would issue signed receipts (electronic receipts where possible) for all books, CDs or DVDs and deposits received for sale on consignment.
II.2) Duty and other Shipping
Costs

Guyana Outpost or Gondola Webworks is not responsible for any import duties or other shipping costs levied or incurred in the shipping of stock books, CDs or DVDs for sale on consignment on Guyana Outpost. These costs are the responsibility of the person(s) wishing to use this service provided by Gondola Webworks through Guyana Outpost.
II.3) Website Display

The display of all consignment books, CDs or DVDs will be given prominence over all other books, CDs or DVDs currently sold on Guyana Outpost. This means that on the Bookstore page, the consignment books will be listed at the top of the first Bookstore web page. The music CDs and DVDs web page will be a direct link off the main Bookstore Page.
Each book, CD or DVD will have cover photos and a short synopsis of what the book, CD or DVD is about (supplied by the author or as listed on the item). The usual book reference information (ISBN number etc.) will be listed if present. The price will also be listed.
The cover photo will be scanned by Gondola Webworks at no charge to the author.
As an added incentive and a limited time offer, each book, CD or DVD placed for sale on Guyana Outpost will have a complimentary advertising banner designed for it, and the banner will be placed in the rotating banner ads at the top of each page on Guyana Outpost. The banner ad will be displayed for as long as the book, CD or DVD is available on Guyana Outpost, or this time limited offer is being offered, whichever comes first.
The purchaser would simply click on a button next to the book's or CD's entry to initiate the purchasing process.
II.4) Pricing Formula

The following pricing formula will apply:
Buyer's Price = Author's cost + Guyana Outpost markup + Shipping/handling
where:
Guyana Outpost markup = 20% of
Author's Cost, minimum US$3
Shipping /handling = going rate for regular mail by US Post based on destination
and package weight and size. It also includes any PayPal shopping cart fees.
Note regarding currency -- The price of books and CDs will be displayed in US currency. As a result, the author should specify what their cost is based on that currency.
II.5) Remittances

Remittances to authors for books, CDs or DVDs sold would be made by electronic funds transfer using PayPal (http://www.paypal.com), by money order or by cheque.
Authors and musicians are strongly advised to get a free account with PayPal in order for Gondola Webworks / Guyana Outpost to transfer funds electronically. Not only is it faster but it is cheaper for both parties.
Should the author or musician choose to be paid using a cheque, a surcharge of US$1.50 will be deducted from the remittance cheque. In the event that the remittance is to be made using a money order, then the cost of the money order will also be added to the US$1.50 surcharge.
If the remittance is either by money order or by cheque, the author or musician may elect to wait until a certain remittance amount has accumulated before having the remittance cheque forwarded. Guyana Outpost will hold the remittances in trust during that time.
